One Old Hamster

Our hamster, Clair, just had her second birthday on May 16, but ever since about last Tuesday, she has been very drowsy, sleeping up to 15 hours a day. She is exetremely weak, and only comes out of her igloo to eat every other day. The only exercise she ever gets is walking up the two stories to her food bowl. She no longer runs in her wheel. To help her out, I moved the food bowl, and the water bowl onto the ground level right in front of the opening of her igloo. The average lifespan of a hamster is two to three years, so we're not expecting to see her walk much longer.
